Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet community situated in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" area. This West Island, to those not familiar with it, is an extensive area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. But this isn't the truth. Brugel developed on Courtice close to Oshawa within Ontario. Her first ambition was to be an expert dancer. Then, a growth increase caused her to surpass every dance partner she had. The article she wrote about her experience revealed published by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. As I got bigger than my male dancers, I decided to quit. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In the case of Brugel, it was the encouragement from her drama teacher at her high school which pushed her in the direction she needed. It was the teacher who recommended she pursue a role for the school's annual production. She was chosen to play the lead role of Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. The show led her to receive an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she earned her Master of Fine Arts at York University. Over the last 20 years, Brugel's work has been seen on the large and small screen. Her work gained most recognition when she landed her part as Rita on the award-winning TV show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actress in the season 1 and only appeared occasionally.
